Academy FM - Folkestone's Radio Station

105.9 Academy FM Folkestone is the town's Community Radio station. Academy FM was based in the Folkestone Academy until summer 2023, and worked with pupils within Turner Schools as well as being the local FM radio station.

Due to the increasing amount of work that Academy FM was doing with Turner Schools, we decided to launch Turner Schools Radio in addition to Academy FM, to expand our work with young people.

Academy FM Folkestone now broadcasts from a central Folkestone location in the Glassworks building. In 2024 there will be an exciting re-brand of the station, with a new name and an enhanced community focus. There will continue to be opportunities for Turner Schools students to broadcast on Academy FM, as well as from their home on Turner Schools Radio.
